Tracer ZN520

Tracer ZN520 Zone Controller
The ZN520 is a factory installed
and tested direct digital control
(DDC) board designed to provide
control of the classroom unit ven-
tilator, and the fan coil products.
The ZN520 controller is designed
to be used in the following applica-
tions:
• As part of the Trane Tracer
Summit building automation
system, the Tracer ZN520 be-
comes an important part of
the Trane Integrated Comfort
system (ICS).
• The ZN520 can function as a
completely standalone con-
troller in situations where a
building automation system
(BAS) is not present.
• For situations when a non-
Trane BAS is present, the
ZN520 can be used as an in-
teroperable unit controller.
Through building management of
the HVAC system, optimizing en-
ergy consumption becomes possi-
ble at a classroom level. Each unit
is capable of functioning indepen-
dently of one another during occu-
pied and unoccupied hours of the
day. This allows the temperature
setpoint and ventilation setting to
be changed automatically based
on classroom usage. See Figure
