grass, leaves and oil.
To reduce the risk of fire, regularly
check the machine for oil and/or fuel
leakage.
When washing the machine with water under high
pressure, do not point the jet directly at the trans-

Do not point jets of water directly at the engine.
Use a brush or compressed air in order to clean it.

ENGINE OIL

Change engine oil the first time after 25 hours of
operation, and subsequently after every 200 hours
of operation or once a season. Change oil when the
engine is warm.
Change the oil more frequently if the engine has to
operate under demanding conditions or if the am-
bient temperature is high.
The engine oil may be very warm if it is
drained off directly after the engine is
shut off. Therefore, allow the engine to
cool a few minutes before draining the
oil.
1. Unscrew the oil drain plug and let the oil run out
(fig. 18).
Collect the oil in a collection vessel. Then take
the oil to a recycling station. Do not allow oil to
get on the V-belts.
2. Screw in the cleaned oil drain plug. Check the
copper washer for damage.
3. Remove the dipstick and the oil filling screw
and fill with oil up to the "MAX" mark (fig. 15,
19).
Oil capacity: 1.7 litres.
ENGLISH
Oil type: SAE 10W-40
Service class: API CD or better.
Use oil without any additives.
Do not fill with too much oil. This can cause the
engine to overheat.
After filling up the oil, start the engine and idle for
30 seconds. Stop the engine. Wait for 30 seconds
and then check the oil level.
Check to see if there is any oil leakage. If neces-
sary, fill up the oil up to the "MAX" mark.
SCREW JOINTS
After the first 25 hours of operation, the engine's
screw joints should be checked. Tighten the screws
if necessary. The adjusting screws for the engine's
regulator and injection system are sealed with lac-
quer and must not be tightened or adjusted
(fig. 20).
Note that it is not possible to influence the amount
of injected fuel or the engine's maximum revs
from outside the engine.
CHECKING VALVE PLAY
After the first 25 hours of operation, the engine's
valve play should be checked. This is carried out
during the First Service. Contact your nearest au-
thorised service workshop. After this, the valve
play should be checked/adjusted every 200 hours
of operation, and this is carried out during the Ba-
sic Service.
AIR FILTER - ENGINE
Check that the air filter is not clogged every 50
hours of operation.
Warning!
Risk of burn injuries.
1. Remove the battery by unscrewing the wing nut,
folding out the clamp and lifting out the battery.
2. Undo the screw and remove the air filter cover
by pulling it outwards/backwards (fig. 23).
3. Check the condition of the air filter.
Replace or clean if necessary.
