Paper Paths

Different kinds of paper feed through the printer in different ways. The paths different kinds of paper
follow are divided into four groups, depending on the entrance the paper is fed from (front, rear, bottom, or
top).

Top Entrance
The following figure shows the paper path for friction feeding using the top entrance. The top entrance is
used only for the friction feed method. When the top entrance is used, the rear PE sensor senses when
paper is out.

Rear Entrance
Figures 5, 6, and 7 show the paper paths for tractor feeding using the rear entrance. The rear entrance
can be used for any of the following paper feed methods: push tractor feed, pull tractor feed, or push-pull
tractor feed. When the rear entrance is used, the rear PE sensor senses when paper is out.
