NOTE: Throughout this book, all references to fixed buttons are
printed in upper case bold type, for example "Press the
INTERCOM button."
All references to interactive buttons are printed in upper case
bold italic type, for example "Press the OPTIONS button."

2.1 Answering Calls

To answer a call ringing at your telephone,
1. If the light is flashing orange, lift handset,
—OR—
if the light is red, press the flashing line button and lift handset.
NOTE: Certain idle line buttons on your telephone (usually the first
two or three) can be arranged by the installer as dynamic line
buttons. This feature allows the system to temporarily assign a
line to your station that you normally do not have. Your
telephone will have line appearance whenever a call appears at
one of these locations.
To answer a call using the speakerphone,
1. Press flashing line or INTERCOM button and speak toward
telephone.
To answer a call that is ringing at any telephone in the system,
1. Press INTERCOM and dial 4 plus extension number of ringing
telephone.
2. Speak toward telephone to answer call. Lift handset if you desire
privacy.
