Basic operations

Warning: Make sure the Lathe power is
off and the Lathe is unplugged before
setting up a project or working near the
Chuck (2).
Following are some of the basic
operations used with the Lathe. It is
recommended that you become familiar
with mini lathe techniques before using
this tool. Consult books on the subject
and/or web page resources for your
project before using this tool.
holding a project between the chuck (2)
and the Live center (143)

Use the chuck to hold the workpiece
firmly. Then, use the Live Center (143)
to fix the other end.
note: If you change the Live Center to a
drilling chuck (sold separately), you start
your drilling immediately.

Use the chuck to hold the workpiece
firmly, and the cutter positioned as
shown above for face cutting. The edge
of the cutter must be at the same height
as the center.
