vides troubleshooting assistance.
The display is blank.

The handset is not activated.
¤ Press and hold the end call
key a.

The battery is empty.
¤ Charge or replace the battery
(¢ page 13).
"Base" flashes in the display.

The handset is outside the range
of the base.
¤ Move the handset closer to the
base.
The range of the base is reduced

because Eco Mode mode is acti-
vated.
¤ Deactivate Eco Mode
(¢ page 40) or reduce the dis-
tance between the handset
and base.

The base is not activated.
¤ Check the base power adapter
(¢ page 11).
"Put into base" or "Register HS"
flashes in the display.
The handset has not been regis-
tered with the base or has been de-
registered.
¤ Place the handset in the base
(automatic registration, may take
up to 5 minutes) or register the
handset manually (¢ page 41).
The handset does not ring.
The ringer melody is deactivated.
¤ Activate the ringer melody
(¢ page 48).
You cannot hear a ringer/dialling
tone from the fixed line.
The phone cord supplied has not
been used or has been replaced by
a new cord with the wrong pin con-
nections.
¤ Please always use the phone cord
supplied or ensure that the pin
connections are correct when
purchasing from a retailer
(¢ page 60).
The connection always terminates
after approx. 30 seconds.
Repeater activated/deactivated
(¢ page 49).
¤ Activate/deactivate the handset
(¢ page 20).
When you try to activate Eco
Mode+, "Not possible!" appears in
the display.
A handset is registered to the base
that does not support Eco Mode+.
Error tone sounds after system PIN
prompt.
You have entered the wrong system
PIN.
¤ Reset the system PIN to 0000
