ALARM Recording
You will see the ALARM IN terminal at the EXT IN/OUT port in the back of SHR-
4040P. you have only to connect this terminal with the ALARM OUT terminal of
external device.
Then, if you set A-In in the ALARM IN/MOTION DETECTION SETUP menu to ON,
recording will start upon alarming. Once recording starts, the following screen pops
up.

Caution Caution
Sudden disconnection of input video signal during recording will stop recording.
However, the system will continue recording upon receiving normal input video sig-
nals. In addition, the system will not start recording without any video signal trans-
mission from the input port.

Pausing Recording
Basic Recording
Press the PANIC button to pause panic recording. Then the PANIC button(
light goes out, the screen enters live mode as follows, recording stops, and HDD
LED stops twinkling. Press the REC button to pause general recording process.
Cancel the recording preset value in the menu to pause recording by
TIMER/MOTION/ALARM.
