Problem
The cordless handset does
not automatically turn ON
after installing/replacing
batteries.
The cordless handset does
not work.
I do not know how to erase
(Missed call) from the
display.
The cordless handset display

turn ON.

Cause & Solution
R Use the speakerphone in a quiet room.
R If you have difficulty hearing the other party, adjust the volume.
R The cordless handset is too far from the base unit.
R You must subscribe to use a Caller ID service. Contact your service
provider/telephone company for details.
R If you use a DSL/ADSL service, we recommend connecting a DSL/ADSL
filter between the base unit and the telephone line jack. Contact your DSL/
ADSL provider for details.
R Other telephone equipment may be interfering with this unit. Disconnect the
other equipment and try again.
R Other electrical appliances connected to the same outlet may be interfering
with the Caller ID information.
R Telephone line noise may be affecting the Caller ID information.
R The caller requested not to send his/her information (page 24).
R If a call is being transferred to you, the caller information will not be
displayed.
R Do not pause for over 1 minute on the cordless handset or 3 minutes on the
base unit while viewing.
R Incorrect time information from incoming Caller ID changes the time. Set the
time adjustment to "MANUAL" (OFF) (feature #33 on page 41).
Cause & Solution
R The battery is empty or too weak to turn ON the power. Place the cordless
handset on the base unit or charger, and let it charge.
R Make sure that the batteries are installed correctly (page 15) and fully charge
them (page 18).
R Fully charge the batteries (page 18).
R Check the connections (page 17).
R Clean the charge contacts and charge again (page 18).
R Turn the cordless handset power OFF, then ON (page 18).
R Check that the power cord is connected properly.
R The cordless handset has not been registered to the base unit. Register the
cordless handset (page 47).
R There are unviewed missed calls remaining. View them and erase
following way.

3. Press MCN to search from the most recent call, or press MDN to search from
the oldest call.
R The cordless handset is not turned ON. Turn the power ON (page 18).
R Make sure that the batteries are installed correctly (page 15).
R Fully charge the batteries (page 18).
R Clean the charge contacts and charge again (page 18).
