High Coolant Temperature
Indicator and Warning Indicator
The high coolant temperature indicator
( ) and the warning indicator ( ) light 1
when the coolant temperature reaches
251°F (122°C). At the same time, the
numbers in the coolant temperature meter
display start flashing.
If this occurs, stop the engine and check
the reserve tank coolant level. Read
pages 125 128 and do not ride the
motorcycle until the problem has been
corrected.
Continuing to ride with an overheated
engine can cause serious engine damage.
Gauges, Indicators & Displays
The high coolant temperature indicator
should also go on for a few seconds and
then go off when the ignition switch is
turned ON.
