Cleaning the meter and lancing device

11.2 Cleaning the lancing device

To ensure proper functioning of your lancing device,
you should clean it regularly and whenever there is any
blood on it. If you want to clean the lancing device, first
detach it from the meter (see Chapter "Undocking and
docking the lancing device").
Clean the outside of the lancing device only. Wipe it
once a week with a cloth moistened with 70 % ethanol
or 70 % isopropanol (available from your pharmacy).
Also clean the inside of the cap with a cotton swab
moistened with one of the two cleaning fluids.

Allow the lancing device and the cap time to dry thor-
oughly.
Doing so may damage its internal components
and stop it from working properly.
