SWITCH ASSEMBLY & NEON LAMP
REPLACEMENT
- 7 CUP FOOD PROCESSORS -
To replace the switch assembly and neon lamp on the 7 cup
food processor:
The following replacement procedure is
NOTE:
described with the motor housing turned
on its side on a cushioned surface and the
switch assembly oriented down.
Cable ties may have to be removed to
NOTE:
perform this procedure.
1.
Unplug the power cord and remove the housing base.
2.
Perform steps 1 and 2 of the relay switch replacement
procedure. If needed, pull the relay switch out of its rubber
mounting block.
3.
Loosen the screw on the power cord terminal block
securing the white wire going to the motor and the white 22
gauge wire going to the neon lamp. Remove the neon
lamp wire and retighten the terminal block screw to secure
the white motor wire.
4.
Loosen the screw on the power cord terminal block
securing the black wire going to the common terminal
(marked COM1) on the switch assembly. Remove the
black wire from the power cord terminal block.
5.
Loosen the screw on the switch assembly terminal block
securing the brown wire going to the safety switch NO
terminal. Remove the brown wire from the switch
assembly terminal block.
6.
Using a T10 torx driver, remove the two (2) M3X15 screws
securing the switch assembly to the motor housing/switch
panel overlay.
7.
Remove the switch assembly from the motor housing and
switch panel overlay.
8.
Manipulate the relay switch/mounting tab out of its rubber
mounting block (attached to the switch assembly) for use
on the new switch assembly.
The red neon lamp lens is slip-fit into the
NOTE:
switch assembly. Remove and save it for
the new switch assembly.
9.
To remove the neon lamp, loosen the screw in the switch
assembly terminal block securing the brown 22 gauge wire
going to the neon lamp. Remove and separate the wires.
The brown neon lamp wire and the red
NOTE:
wire going to the NO terminal on the
switch assembly are twisted together
when inserted into the switch assembly
terminal block. Separate the two wires to
remove the neon lamp.
10. Replace the red neon lamp lens into the new switch
assembly by aligning the tab on the lens with the slot in the
switch assembly. Make sure the lens is fully seated
against the switch assembly.
11. Install the switch assembly by manipulating it into position
over the bosses on the switch panel overlay.
12. Insert the two (2) M3X15 screws and tighten using a T10
torx driver.
13. Connect the wires in the reverse order.
