Coding
Your personal code number is on the iden-
tity card of your car radio.
Coding is not activated when the radio
leaves the factory.
If you have "activated" your car radio's
coding: As soon as you disconnect the car
radio from the car battery (or permanent
plus terminal 30), it is electronically
blocked.
Only you are able to put it back into opera-
tion by entering your personal Code Number.

Activate the EXPERT mode and press the

Activating the coding
1. Select the EXPERT control level and press
the r
t buttons until "CODE"
TUNING
appears in the display.
Activate the setting:

Briefly press the
button. In the
EXPERT
display flashes "- - - -".
2. Enter the code number (on the Identity Card)
with the r

buttons (see example).
Hold down the r
t buttons to
TUNING
alter the number at high speed.

Pressing a button a longer time counts the
respective digtit backwards.
3. Confirm the code number:

display appears "SAFE".
Coding is activated!
4. Deactivate the EXPERT control level:

3. Confirm the code number.

The radio will play after approximately
3 seconds.
Coding is deactivated!
If you have entered the incorrect code
number:
"SAFE" remains in the display and the radio
does not play.
Begin again. Be sure to observe the waiting
periods between attempts (see page 18).
