Programme Types (PTY)

Many radio stations offer the "Programme
Type" (PTY) service in the FM range (FMl,
FM ll). For example, the identification " NEWS "
is broadcast with the latest news.
Using the PTY search function, you can auto-
matically tune to stations having a preselected
programme type, e.g. " POP ".
Programme types
The programme types a radio station offers
change according to the programme being
broadcast.

For selecting a programme type, two
methods of calling up the PTY search
function are available.

1. The four PTY programme type buttons
(station buttons) are assigned to four pro-
gramme types. You can alter this pre-set
assignment as desired.
2. You can select a programme type in the
stored list and then start the search func-
tion.
The following sections describe the procedure.

PTY function

1. Activate the PTY function

button until the signal
PTY
sounds:
the last selected programme type is dis-
played.

Briefly press the desired button.
The PTY search automatically runs to the
next station broadcasting the preset pro-
gramme type and briefly displays this pro-
gramme type , e.g. " POP ", and then the
name of the station tuned to.
