Troubleshooting chart

Keep away open flames and do not smoke while checking or working on the fuel system.
1. Fuel
Check the fuel level
in the fuel tank.
2. Compression
Operate the
electric starter.

3. Ignition
Remove the spark
plugs and check
the electrodes.
4. Battery
Operate the electric
starter.
There is enough fuel.
Check the compression.
There is no fuel. Supply fuel.
There is compression.
There is no compression.
Wipe off with a dry cloth and correct the spark
Wet
plug gaps, or replace the spark plugs.
Dry
Have a Yamaha dealer check the vehicle.
The engine turns
The battery is good.
over quickly.
The engine turns Check the battely lead connections,
over slowly. and charge the battery if necessary.
