Troubleshooting

Problem
The display is blank.
Unable to operate the
voice recorder
Unable to record

Playback is inaudible.
The recording is too
quiet.
Audio file sound is
distorted.

Possible cause
The battery is not inserted
properly.
The remaining battery power
is low.
The power is OFF.
The remaining battery power
is low.
The power is OFF.
The voice recorder is in HOLD
mode.
There is no remaining memory.
The maximum number of
recordable files has been reached.
The earphones are connected to
the EAR jack.
[Off] has been selected for
[Speaker].
The volume is set to [00].
The recording level hasn't been
adjusted.
A low recording level has been
set.
The output level of the connected
external device may be too low.
The recording level hasn't been
adjusted.
The voice recorder's recording
level, or the output level of the

Solution
Check the orientation of the battery

Charge the battery (☞ P.12, P.16).
Turn the power ON (☞ P.15).
Charge the battery (☞ P.12, P.16).
Turn the power ON (☞ P.15).
Release HOLD mode (☞ P.21).
Erase unneeded files (☞ P.46).
Select another folder (☞ P.25, P.27).
To output the playback through the built-
in speaker, disconnect the earphones.
