replace the carbon brushes if the motor does not
develop full power, or the brushes measure less
than ⁄ " long.

To replace the motor brushes:
1.
disCoNNECt lathE FroM poWEr!
2.
remove the backsplash to gain acess to both
brushes (see figure 44).

3. unscrew each brush cap and carefully remove
each brush from the motor (see figure 45).

4.
install new brushes.
5.
re-install the brush caps, then replace the
backsplash.
