    Thank you for deciding to buy a Minolta multifunctional machine. The multi-functional Di151 with fax option which is described in this user manual will hereafter be referred to as the Di151f. Read this User Manual carefully before starting up your machine and always keep the instructions to hand.

    Installation Installation Location Please take into consideration the following recommendations. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight and place the machine away from heaters. Avoid humid or dusty locations. Place the machine on an even, non-vibrating surface. Keep the machine away from magnetic fields (TV sets, radios). Avoid locations close to ventilation openings, air conditioners and heaters.

    Installation Processing Unit This machine produces images and characters by applying the toner through the drum cartridge onto the page to be printed. The processing unit should be handled with care when installed or replaced, to ensure proper performance at all times. Never expose the cartridge to direct sunlight or any other direct light.

    Installation Installing the Cartridge WARNING Toner cartridges can be a health risk! Toner, if swallowed can be a danger to your health. ➜ If you come in contact with the toner, remember to wash your hands immediately with cold water and soap. WARNING The heating element will be hot and could burn you! The temperature of the heating element can reach up to 120°C.

    Installation 2nd Paper Tray — 500 Sheets This paper tray will only take A4L paper. Carefully pull the paper tray out as far as it will go. Press the paper lifting plate down until you hear a 'click'. Add the paper. Ensure that the corners of the stack of paper are under both paper stoppers.

    Sending Sending Transmission Notes on Original Documents Your new fax machine can transmit the following document sizes. You can place up to 50 sheets of A4 paper in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF). Maximum Effective document size text width 216 mm max.

    Sending Using Carryier Film Documents that meet the following characteristics must be photocopied or placed in a carrying film before they can be sent: paper sizes less than 148 mm wide or less than 100 mm long; paper lighter than 50g/m²; folded, torn, wrinkled, damp, rough or curled documents;...

Make sure the pages are well placed and aligned before starting the transmission. If the paper is curled or pages stick together, more than one page at a time could be fed into the machine which can lead to paper jams or faulty transmissions.

    Sending Relay Transmission This function enables you to use your Di151f as a transmission station. You send a document to one or several fax machines and they in turn send the document to several destinations.
