To replace the pencil nib
1. Carefully unscrew the cap surrounding the pencil nib.
2. Pull gently on the nib to remove it from the pencil.
3. Insert the new nib, and then replace the cap.

Replacing Your Pencil Battery

Replace the pencil's AAA battery when the Low Battery warning appears on your screen.
To replace the pencil battery
With a new battery, follow the procedure on page 12 to disassemble the pencil, insert the battery
and reassemble the pencil.

Configuring Your Computer Settings

For optimal configuration, use the following settings for the computer supporting your
SMART Board interactive display frame.
Recommended Settings
Configure your computer's power management settings to turn off the display after one hour of
inactivity and to put the hard disk(s) into Standby mode after two hours. This extended period
prevents the computer from shutting down unexpectedly (for example, during presentations or
meetings that have gaps in computer activity).
For more information on changing these power management settings, see the instructions
included with your operating system.
