OPERATING FAULTS
On the road
– Smoke under the bonnet.
– The oil pressure warning light comes
on:
– while turning or braking,
– at idle speed,
– is slow to go out or remains lit when
accelerating.
– Loss of engine power.
– Unstable idle speed or the engine
stalls.

CAUSES
Short circuit.
Coolant circuit pipe fault.
The level is too low.
Low oil pressure.
Loss of oil pressure.
Clogged air filter.
Fuel supply fault.
Faulty spark plugs, incorrect electrode
gaps.
Poor compression (spark plugs, ignition,
air leak).
WHAT TO DO
Stop, switch off the ignition, disconnect
the battery.
Contact a RENAULT Dealer.
Top up the engine oil level (refer to the
information on Topping up and filling with
engine oil in Section 4).
Consult the nearest RENAULT Dealer.
Stop. Contact a RENAULT Dealer.
Replace the cartridge.
Check the fuel level.
Contact a RENAULT Dealer.
