Completing Initial Power-On Self Test

After Unpacking Your Endurance Server
Step Action
1 Make sure the power switches for the
computer and monitor are off.
2 Following the manufacturer's
instructions, assemble each computer.
3 Plug in the power cords.
4 Power on each computer; make sure
that it runs POST (power-on self test)
and boots properly.
Continue with Chapter 2, Installing the
Preparing for the Installation
Kit, complete the following for each computer:

To increase fault resiliency, install the
computers of Tuple1 and Tuple2 on separate
AC power circuits using Uninterruptable Power
Supplies.
For the CEs, use a bootable floppy disk, and
ensure that the CEs boot.
For the IOPs, ensure that both IOPs can boot
from their respective hard drives. If an
operating system is not installed on the IOP,
use the MS-DOS boot diskette.
