To replace the hard drive:

Follow the instructions under
page 258.

Turn off your notebook, disconnect the AC adapter and modem and
network cables.

Disconnect your notebook from the optional port replicator (see
"Disconnecting from the port replicator" on page

Turn your notebook over so the bottom is facing up.

Remove the battery. For more information, see
page 171.

Loosen the hard drive bay cover screw, then remove the hard drive bay
