Electrical Requirements

Extension Cord Cautions
Because of potential safety ha/_trds associated with certain
conditions, we strongly recommend against the use of
an extension cord. However, if you still elect to use all
extension cord, it is absolute]_ necessa*x that it be a
Uldisted, 3-wh'e gToundinDtype appliance extension cord
and that the current canting rating of the cord ill amperes
be equivalent to, or greater ttlan, tile circuit rating.
Grounding

FOR PERSONAL SAFFTY, THIS APPLIANCF MUST
BE PROPERLY GROUNDED.

Tlle power cord of this appliance is equipped with a
3-prong (grotmding) plug which mates with a standard
3-prong grounding wall receptacle to minimize tile
possibility ot electric shock ha/ard fl'om this appliance.
Tlle customer should haw the wall receptacle and drcuit
checked by a qualified electrician to make sure the
receptacle is properly grounded.
Where a standard 2-prong wall receptacle is encountered,
it is tlle personal responsibility and obligation ot the
customer to ha\v it replaced with a properly grounded
3-prong wall receptacle.
DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, CUT OR
RFMOVE THE THIRD (GROUND) PRONG FROM
THF POWER CORD.
A word about GFCI's----GFCPs axe not required or
recommended for gas raaage receptacles.
Ground l_2mlt Circuit lntermptel_ (GF(l's) are devices
that sense leakage cd cm'rent ill a circuit and automatically
switch off power when a threshold leakage le\vl is
detected. These devices must be manually reset by tlle

An adapter may be used only on a 15-amp circuit. Do not
use an adapter on a 20-amp drcuit. _4]mre local codes

CAUTION: Atta,hi.g the adapter gr,,..d
temlinal to tile wall receptacle cover screw does not
ground the appliance tmless the cover screw is metal,
and not insulated, and the wall receptacle is gro/mded
through tile house wiring. Tile customer should have
the circuit checked by a qualified electrician to make
sure the receptacle is propedy grounded.
X_]/en disconnecting tile power cord fl'om tile adapte_;
always hold the adapter with one hand. If this is not
done, tile adapter groxmd temlinal is very likely to break
with repeated use. Should this happen, DO NOT USE
tile appliance/mtil a proper gro/md has again been
established.
