Self-cleaning gas ranges

Care and cleaning of the range.

Lower Control Panel (Front Manifold Panel) and Knobs
It's a good
idea to _ipe
the control
panel
after

Use a damp
cloth
to clean
o; rinse.
For cleaning,
use mild soap and water
o; a 50/50
solution
ofvineKar
and _lter.
For
rinsing,
use clean _ttel:
Polish

cloth.
Do I/Ot tlse abrasive cleansers, strong liquid
cleaners, plastic scouring pads or o_en cleanel's
on the control panel--tile) will damage the
finish.
Do not bend
knobs b) pulling

can damage
the g_asxal',e shaft.
The control knobs mm be remo\ed
tbr easier
cleaning.
Make sine the knobs are in the OFFposifions
and pull them stndght off fl_e stems ior cleaning.
The knobs can be cleaned in a dish_Mmr
or
the} may also be washed widl soap and watex:
Make sm_ file insides of the knobs are dr_

Replace the knobs in the OFFposition
to ensure proper placement.
Metal pm'ts can be deaned with soap and _tex:
Do not use steel w_ol, abnlsi\ es, ammonia, adds
or commercial o_en cleanex_. Dry with a soft doth.
Oven Shelves
If your oven is equipped with nickel ()','ell
shelves, the_ should be X_liio_ed tram file o_en
beiiwe beg-inning the seltklean cycle.
To clean the nickel shekes, use an abnlsi\e
cleanser _Mier cleaning, rinse the shekes with
clean _lter and &v wifl_ a clean cloth. If the
shelves ever become hard to slide, wipe the shelf
edges or o_en shelf suppo;ts wifl_ vegetable oil.
If your o\en is equipped with gray porcelain-
coamd shelves, the_ may be cleaned in d_e o_en
during the sell:clean wcle.
They may also be cleaned b} using an abnlsive
cleanse_: .Mter cleaning, rinse tile shelves with
clean water and drx wid_ a clean cloth. If tlle
shekes ever become hard to slide, wipe the shelf
edges o; o_en shelf supports wifll vegetable oil.

Oven Light Replacement
A CAUTION: efore
replecing
ouroven
light bulb, disconnect the electrical power to the range at
the main fuse or circuit breaker panel. Be sure to let the
light cover and bulb cool completel_
The oven light bulb
is covered
with a removable
glass
co_er that is held in
place
with a bail-
shaped
wire. Remove
the o\en doo_, if desired,
to l_ach

easily.
To remove:

Hold
a hand

the eo_,er so it doesn't

Do not removeanyscrews toremove

Toreplace cover:
Do not touch hot bulb with
a wet cloth. Replace bulb
_ith a 40-watt household
appliance bulb.

receptacle.
