Details on procedure for handling error messages
Error message
No Media • Cannot detect media.
Unformat • The media is formatted in an unsupported format. Format the
media on DN-501C or set the format to FAT16 or FAT32. For
details, see the operation instructions of the recording media.
Media Full • The remaining space on a media is running low. Replace the media
with a new one or delete files that are no longer required.
File Not Found • Target file does not exist. Check the file.
Hot Start Not • There is no track registered to the selected hot start button.
Assigned Register a track to the hot start button.
VBR • This error message appears when a VBR file search is performed.
Search cannot be performed on VBR files. The remaining time of a
file is not displayed either.
Already Exists • A file with the same file name already exists. Change the file name
and then press the jog dial to enter the data.
Keys Restricted • Key lock is activated. To operate DN-501C, cancel the lock.
All Keys Locked
IR Locked • Remote control operations are locked. To operate the remote
control, cancel the lock.
Not allowed • This appears when an invalid operation is performed. Check the
details of the operation because the operation may be invalid due
to other setting items such as the preset menu etc.
Err Format • Format the media on DN-501C or set the format to FAT16 or
FAT32. For details, see the operation instructions of the media.
Err Media X • The media is not compatible with the DN-501C. Replace with
compatible media.

Not Connected • Check if it is properly connected to DN-501C. If this message

persists, replace the cable.
Not Supported • A device that is not supported by RC-F400S is connected. Check

the connected device.
No Media • The media inserted in DN-501C has not been detected. Eject and
insert the media again.
