iPod playback

ON/STANDBY
You can listen to music from an iPod using the DN-501C.
You can also control the iPod using the DN-501C or the remote control.
• For details on compatible iPod models, see "Compatible iPod/iPhone
models" (vpage 29).
"Made for iPod" and "Made for iPhone" mean that an electronic
accessory has been designed to connect specifically to iPod or iPhone,
respectively, and has been certified by the developer to meet Apple
performance standards.
Apple is not responsible for the operation of this device or its
compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Please note that
the use of this accessory with iPod or iPhone may affect wireless
performance.
iPhone, iPod, iPod classic, iPod nano, iPod shuffle, and iPod touch are
trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.
• The iPod may only be used to copy or play contents that are not
copyrighted or contents for which copying or playback is legally
permitted for your private use as an individual. Be sure to comply
with applicable copyright laws.

Connect the iPod to the DN-501C.
For details on how to connect it, see "Connecting a USB
device or iPod" (vpage 13).

Select "iPod/iPhone" from the "Media List".
"Remote iPod/iPhone" appears in the display.

NOTE
• D&M will accept no responsibility whatsoever for any loss of iPod
data.
• Depending on the type of iPod and the software version, some
functions may not operate.
• This unit does not support playback on an iPad. Do not connect an
iPad to the unit.
• When connecting an iPhone to this unit, keep the iPhone at least 20
cm (8 inch) away from this unit. If the iPhone is kept closer to this
unit and a telephone call is received by the iPhone, noise may be
output from this device.
• If the iPod is connected using an iPod cable (commercially available)
that is longer than 2 m (6.6 ft), sound may not be played correctly.
In this case, use a genuine iPod cable, or a cable that is shorter than
1 m (3.3 ft).
• If the size of the image registered to the music file as album artwork
is larger than 500 x 500 pixel, the music file cannot be played
correctly. In this case, delete the album artwork from iTunes.
• When playing back from an iPod or iPhone, the headphone output
is muted.
