Checking Printer Status via E-mail

When connected in a network environment where sending and receiving of e-mails is
possible, the printer can send an e-mail with the following report to a specified e-mail
address. Only text format is available for the e-mail format.
• The network settings and the printer status
• The error status which has occurred on the printer
This feature is known as StatusMessenger feature.

Settings for StatusMessenger Feature

To use the StatusMessenger feature, settings on the network and e-mail environment are
required. Check with your network administrator whether these settings are completed.
Network Environment
• Register user account
Setting the E-mail Environment (at This Printer)
Activate CentreWare Internet Services and set Port Status, Machine E-Mail Address and
mail server.
Configure the following items according to your e-mail environment under [Properties].
Note
• After configuring the settings, always click [Apply New Settings and Reboot Device] and switch off/on the
printer to reboot.
• For details about each item, refer to the Online Help for CentreWare Internet Services.
