Speech recognition
Cancelling a dialogue sequence
There are various possibilities to
deactivate the speech recognition
and to cancel a dialogue sequence:
■ Press the button x on the steering
wheel or any button on the
Infotainment system.
■ Press and hold the button w on the
steering wheel for a few seconds.
■ Say "Cancel".
In the following situations a dialogue
sequence is automatically cancelled:
■ If you do not say any commands for
some time (by default you are
prompted three times to say
a command).
■ If you say commands that are not
recognized by the system (by
default you are prompted three
times to say a correct command).
Breaking up a running voice
output message
As an experienced user you can
break up a running voice output
message by (short) pressing the
button w on the steering wheel.
Afterwards, the current dialogue
sequence will be continued
automatically.
Important notes on voice input
■ If experiencing difficulty with the
system recognizing a command,
confirm that the command is
correct. Try saying the command
clearly or wait for a brief moment
after the beep.
■ Background noise such as
a climate control fan positioned on
high, open windows, and very loud
outside noises, even if the windows
are closed, can cause voice
commands to be misunderstood
■ The speech recognition only
recognizes commands based on
the language currently selected for
the Infotainment display.
Visual and acoustic help
After activating speech recognition,
you are guided through a dialogue
sequence via help menus, voice
output messages and on-screen
messages.
Help menus
Dependent on the currently active
mode of operation (radio, CD player,
navigation etc.), a help menu with the
most important available voice
commands is displayed.
Example: Radio help menus
If the radio mode is currently active,
the radio help menu (part 1) shown
below is displayed.
As soon as you hear a beep and the
symbol in the upper left corner of the
help menu (see image above) has
changed its colour from red to grey,
you can say one of the following
commands:
