Caution
For proper functioning and to
conform to IR programming
standards, use the template in
the Hand Control IR functions-
Standard functions subsec-
tion. The first 42 function posi-
tions are typically reserved for
the main IR function source
and positions 43+ are used for
the specialty IR functions that
comprise a custom file.
Note
For the purposes of the
following subsections, we will
use the SAV file extension for
custom files.
DO NOT save the file name
sequence with the IR* exten-
sion.
Note
For the purposes of this ex-
ample, the *.SAV extension
was used, although any other
extension can be used.

to the Saving A Custom File subsection.

Saving a Custom File

Once the IR function list is complete, save it to a DOS file for future reference and
modification. Custom file creation saves raw coded data without entering manufac-
turing information such as brand name or function names (these are defined by the
individual manufacturers). The file can then be used to program an AXC-IR/S card.
Custom files are not saved as either .IRL or .IRV files but may use any file nomen-
clature desired, such as *.SAV.
Create a custom file from any IR function description list with the following steps:
1.
After storing the last IR function, press ESCAPE. You are returned to the
DCU/IRS menu. The list you created has been stored to a temporarily file.
2.
Choose the SAVE FILE option from the DCU/IRS menu by scrolling down the
list and pressing ENTER or RETURN.
3.
When the Save DCU/IRS data dialog box appears (Figure 21), enter the new file
name with an extension other than IRL and press ENTER. If you do not want to
save the file to the current working directory, enter a specific path and location.
