Basic Operations—Continued
Using the Auto Tune function manually:
At a later date, you may want to re-tune because you
moved the AV receiver or because you want to receive a
newly introduced multiplex.
1. Press the [AUTOTUNE] button.
2. The Auto Tune starts and scans the U.K. area Band III
(11B-12D) (U.K. Mode) or Band III (5A-13F) and L-
Band (World Mode) frequencies.
The progress of scanning and the number of scanned sta-
tions are shown during scanning.
If you want to stop the auto tuning on the way, press the
[AUTOTUNE] button again.

Selecting the Station

Press the [UP]/[DOWN] button to select the station you
want to listen to.
The selected station is tuned.
If a secondary service is available with the selected pri-
mary service, the ">" sign appears on the display.
While any secondary service is selected, the "<" sign
appears on the display.
When the station you frequently listen to is selected, the
"F" letter appears on the display.
For stations that failed to tune "?" appears on the display.
Returning to the previous station:
Pressing the [JUMP] button switches between current
and previous stations.

Displaying DAB Information

Press the [DISPLAY] button repeatedly to cycle through
the six different display modes.
1. DLS (Data Label Service)
When tuned to a station that's broadcasting DLS text
information, that information is shown as scrolling text
on the display.
2. P-Type
Displays a description of the program type being broad-
cast by the station.
3. Bit Rate + Audio Type
Displays the current audio type (stereo, mono, or joint
stereo) and the bit rate at which the audio signal is being
transmitted.
This rate is set by the broadcaster to suit the type and
quality of material being transmitted.
4. Signal Quality
Represents the broadcast signal reception level.
The meaning of the two digit number is as follows. 0 to
59: Poor reception; 60 to 79: Good reception, and 80 to
100: Excellent reception
5. Multiplex Name
Displays the multiplex name.

6. Multiplex No. & Frequency
Displays the multiplex number and frequency for the sta-
tion to which you are tuned.
