Loading/Unloading
a Cassette
Notes
• Only video cassettes with the [_
mark
can be used with this VCR.
• You cannot insert a cassette when the
power cord is not plugged in.
Insert the cassette with the window facing up. Push the
cassette in lightly until the cassette is loaded
automatically.
When a cassette with the safety tab in place is inserted,
the power turns on automatically.
When a cassette without
the safety tab in place is
inserted, the power turns on automatically,
and
playback begins.
Unlike audio cassettes, only one side of a video cassette
can be recorded on.
Note
This -IV is equipped
with the Quick-Access-System.
When a cassette is inserted, the tape is readied for
immediate
recording or playback. If the cassette is left
inserted, whether the "IV is turned on or off, the iV
automatically
unloads the tape after about five minutes.
A faint mechanical
sound may be audible at this time.
But this is not a malfunction.
When watching "IV
programs,
eject the cassette to prevent the tape from
being worn.
Press EJECT while the VCR is
in the stop mode.
The cassette is ejected.

WARNING
Do not insert your hand or any foreign objects into the
compartment.
This may result in injury or damage. Take
special care with children to avoid accidents.

To prevent recording over a recorded program
If the safety ta b is removed
from a cassettd; the tape
cannot be recorded over even
if the REC button'js pressed.
To prevent accidental
erasure, remove the safety
tab with a screwdriver.

Cover the tab hole with
Adhesive tape
adhesive tape.
