These functions allow you to quickly locate a particular scene or
segment on the tape while monitoring the playback picture.
Forward picture search
Press FF during playback.
The tape plays at 5 times (SP speed) or 15 times (SLP speed) the
normal speed.
You can also switch to fast forward mode
and back to forward picture search mode
using the FF button.
To return to normal playback, press
PLAY/x 2,

Reverse picture search
Press REW during playback.
The tape plays backward at 5 times (SP speed) or 15 times (SLP
speed) the normal speed.
You can also switch to rewind mode and
back to reverse picture search mode using
the REW button.
To return to normal playback, press
PLAY/x 2.

AcceL search
By keeping the FF or REW button pressed during playback, the search
speed accelerates to 7 times (SP speed) or 21 times (SLP speed) the
normal speed.
When the button is released, the tape speed returns to 5 or 15 times
the normal speed.
To return to normal playback, press PLAY/x 2.
