NOTE: Checkthe oil levelbeforeeach useand after everyfive hours
of operationto be surethe correctoil levelis maintained.Referto
CheckingEngineOil.
1.
Drainfuelfrom the tank by runningtheengine untilthe fueltank is
empty.Be surethe fuel fill capis secure.
2.
Placea suitableoil collectioncontainerunderthe oil drain plug.
3.
Removetheoil drain plug,Figure11.

Tiptheenginetodrainoilintothecontainer. Usedoilmustbedisposed
of at a propercollectioncenter.
5.
Reinstallthe drain plugand tightenit securely.
6.
Refillwith the recommended oil and checkthe oil level;referto
CheckingEngineOil on page 13for instructions.
7.
Reinstallthe oil fillercap/dipsticksecurely.
Thoroughly wash yourhandswith soapand wateras soon as
possibleafter handlingusedoil.
NOTE:Pleasedisposeof usedmotoroil in a mannerthat is friendlyto
the environment. T akeit to a recyclingcenteror othercollectioncenter.
DONOTcheck fora spark with the sparkplug removed.DONOT
crank theengine with the sparkplug removed.
If the enginehas been running,the mufflerwill be very hot. Becareful
not to touch themuffler
Checkspark plugevery 25 hoursand changeoncea seasonor every
100hours.Toensureproperengineoperation,the spark plug mustbe
properlygappedand freeof deposits.

Remove the sparkplugbootand usea sparkplugwrenchto remove
the plug, Figure12

2.
Visuallyinspect the sparkplug.Discardthesparkplugifthereis any
apparentwear,or if the insulatoris crackedor chipped.Cleanthe
sparkplug with a wire brushif it is to be reused.
3.
Measure the pluggap with a feelergauge.Correctas necessary by
bendingthe sideelectrode,Figure13.The gap shouldbe set to
.02-.03inches(0.60-0.80ram).
