AUGER CONTROL
Locatedon the upperhandle,the auger controlhandleis usedto
engageand disengagedriveto the auger.Squeezethe controlhandle
againstthe upperhandleto engagethe auger;releaseit to disengage.
CHUTE
ASSEMBLY
Rotatethe dischargechute to the left or rightusingthe chute handle.
Thepitch of the dischargechute controlsthe angleat which the snow
is thrown.Loosenthewing knobon the side of the dischargechute
beforepivotingthe dischargechute upwardor downward.Retighten
the knoboncethe desiredpositionhasbeen achieved.
SHAVE PLATE
Theshaveplate maintainscontactwith the pavementas the snow
throweris propelled,allowingsnowclose tothe pavement'ssurfaceto
be discharged.

OUTLET
Theelectricstarteroutlet requiresthe use of a three-prongoutdoor
extensioncordand a 120Vpowersource/walloutlet.
NOTE:The electricstarteris mountedto the plasticshroudand is
shownin Figure7 attachedto the enginefor easierreference.

wire to the sparkplug beforestarting.

Toavoidcarbonmonoxidepoisoning,makesurethe engineis
outdoorsin a well-ventilated area.
NOTE:Allowtheengine to warmup fora few minutesafter starting.
The enginewill notdevelopfull poweruntil it reachesoperating
temperatures.
Electric
Starter
The electricstarteris equippedwith a groundedthree-wirepower
cord and plug,and is designedto operateon 120volt AChousehold
current.It mustbe usedwith a properlygroundedthree-prong
receptacleat all timesto avoidthe possibilityof electricshock.Follow
all instructionscarefullypriorto operatingthe electricstarter.DONOT
useelectricstarterin rain.

Determine that yourhome'swiringisa three-wiregroundedsystem.
Ask a licensedelectricianif youare unsure.If you havea
groundedthree-prongreceptacle,proceedas follows.If you do
nothavethe properhousewiring, DO NOTusethe electricstarter
underanyconditions.
2.
Insertthe ignitionkey fully intothe slot, Figure8. Makesureit
snapsintoplace. DO NOTturn the ignitionkey,doing so might
cause it to break.The enginecannotstart unlessthe key is
insertedinto the ignitionswitch.
