MULTI-CHANNEL TV SOUND (MTS)
This VCR will decode MTS stereo and bilingual (SAP) off-the-air broadcast sound signals. This VCR also
decodes Stereo TV sound from local CArV companies, as long as they operate on assigned CATV frequencies
and use the EIA recommended MTS stereo/bilingual TV sound system.
STEREO
You can enjoy listening to TV programs with stereo sound if the TV program is broadcast in stereo.
BILINGUAL (SAP)
You can select either of the two languages being broadcasted. Usually, the language broadcast on the Primary
sound channel will be English. The second language or other audio will be transmitted on the Second Audio
Program (SAP) channel.
HOW TO RECORD WITH MTS I
1. Press the "MENU" button.
2. Press the "7" button to select SET UP menu.
3. Press the "7" button to select AUDIO MODE

STEREO/MONO/SAP. SELECTOR
1. If only the STEREO indicator lights, the VCR will
record in stereo onto the VHS Hi-Fi audio tracks
when the STEREO/MONO/SAP selector is in the
STEREO position. The VCR will also record
mono audio onto the mono audio track.
2. If a program is broadcast with SAP and recording
or monitoring of the SAP is desired, select the
STEREO/MONO/SAP selector to SAP.
3. If both the STEREO and SAP. BILINGUAL
indicators light, use the STEREO/MONOiSAP
selector to select the desired recording mode
(STEREO or SAP. BILINGUAL).

Lights up when a stereo broadcast is being
received.
"SAP"
Lights up when a SAP. BILINGUAL broadcast is
being received.
