) Selecting theOn-screen Language
You can set your VCR to display on-screen messages, menus, and
functions in English, Spanish or French. You should do this
before you use the menus or set any audio/video functions.
Beforeyou begin,you needto know:
• how to view the picture cc,ming from your VCR. (See page 20.)

Make sure you are viewing the picture coming from your
VCR. Then, press the MENU button on the remote control. If
this is the first time the menus have beez: used, you w![ll see
the menu for selecting an on-screen langxLage.

Press the ADJUST buttons on the remote: control to highlight
the desired language. Th_ ADJUST + button moves upward;
the ADJUST - button moves downward.
Press the ENTER, button on the remote control. The menu
will change to the "VCR Main Menu."
O Press the MENU button to exit the menus.

The "Select Language" menu is unique. While all other menus can
be accessed at almost any tim e, the "Select Language" menu will
not automatically appear again after it is first set. To see the
"Select Language" menu, turn off the VCR az=d unplug the power
cord. Leave it unplugged for about two minutes, then follow the
procedure on this page.

will use the menus to operate many features, such as setting the
time, programming to record, and memorizing channels. On the
on-screen menus, the selected item is ind:icat,_d in white.
Before you begin, you need to know:

Make sure you are viewir_g the picture coming from your
VCR. Then, press the MENU button or._the remote control.
You will see the "VCR Main Menu." Make sure the words
"First Time Set-Up" are highlighted. If it is not, use the
ADJUST buttons to highlight it.
Press the ENTER button. The "First Time Set-Up" menu will
appear. The word "Set tlhe clock" will be highlighted. Press
the ENTER button.
