IMPORTANT: T his unit is shippedwithoutgasolineor oil in the engine.
Be certain to serviceenginewithgasolineand oil as instructedin the
Operationsectionof this manualbeforeoperatingyourmachine.
NOTE:Referenceto rightand left hand sideof the Tilleris observed
fromthe operatingposition.
OPENING
CARTON
1.
Removeall staplesfromaroundthe bottomof the perimeter.
2.
Removethe carton fromthe skid.
3.
Removeall looseparts.
4.
Removeloosepackingmaterial.
REMOVING
UNiT FROM SKiD
1.
Thetiller is heavy,do notattemptto removeit from the skid until
instructedto do so in these assemblysteps.
2.
Checkcarton thoroughlyfor anyotherlooseparts.

ATTACHING
THE HANDLE
ASSEMBLY
1.
Installthe handleontothetiller usingthe hardwarepreinstalled
on the handlemountingbrackets.This consistsof a 5/16-18x
3.00"hex bolt,a handlecrankassembly,retainerbracketand two
5/16-18flangelock nuts. Removethis hardwarefromthe handle
mountingbracketson the tiller.Referto Figure1 inset.
2.
Insertthe handleintothe handlemountingbrackets,lining up the
pre-drilledholes. Insertthe5/16-18x 3.00" hexbolt in the bottom
hole fromthe left handside throughto the otherside. Placethe
round holeend of the hex retainerbracketoverthe hexbolt and
securelooselywith a bell washerand 5/16-18flangelock nut
removedearlier.Referto Figure1 inset.
NOTE:Thebell washershouldbe positionedwith the top of the bell
shapetowardsthe hexnutwhich will createtensionand furthersecure
theflange lock nutonce tightened.Donot tightenthis hardwareatthis
time.

Installthe handle-crank adjustmentrod intothe top hole of the
mountingbracketfrom the left hand sideof the handleassembly,
securewith the otherflangelock nut previouslyremoved.Fit
the hexend of the retainerbracketoverthe flangelock nut. See
Figure1.
4.
Tightenthe hexbolt installedin Step2 at this time. Be carefulnot
to overtightenthis hardware.
5.
Withthe handlein the desiredposition,tighten the handlecrank
adjustmentrod at this time.

ATTACHING
THE CABLES
1.
Routethe two cables alongthe handleassemblyon the righthand
side.
2.
Connectthe reversecable(Red)to the reversecablecontrolby
feedingthez-hookthroughthe holeon the reversecablecontrol
from the insidetowardstheoutside.See Figure2.
3.
Connecttheforwarddrivecable(Black) to the clutchbail by
feedingthez-hookthroughthe holeon the clutchbail fromthe
outsidetowardsthe inside. See Figure2.
NOTE:Testthefunctionof the reverseclutchby pullingthe reverse
handleand releasingit. The handleshouldreturnto its neutral
position.If it doesn't,contactCustomerSupportforassistanceor the
nearestdealer.
Totest the functionof the forwarddrivebail, lift the bail to the handle
and releaseit. The bail shouldreturnto its neutralposition.If it doesn't,
contactCustomerSupportfor assistanceor the nearestdealer.
