HIGH.Theknobscanbeseton or between any
of the settings.
SETTING THE CONTROLS
1. Placepan on surfaceelement.
2. Pushin and turnthe knobin eitherdirection
to the desiredheatsetting.
> Thebackguard ismarked to identify which
elementtheknobcontrols.Forexample,
this graphicindicatesright front
element.
3. After cooking,turn knob to OFF. Remove
pan.
SURFACEINDICATORLIGHTS
Thereis an indicator l ightlocatedon the con-
trol panel. When any of the surface control
knobsare turnedon,the lightwillturn on.The
lightwillturnoffwhenthesurfaceelementsare
turnedoff.

BeforeCooking
> Always placea pan on the surfaceunit
beforeyouturn iton.To preventdamage
to range,neveroperatesurfaceunitwith-
out a pan in place.
> NEVER use the cooktop as a storage
area for food or cookware.
During Cooking
> Be sure you know which knob controls
whichsurfaceunit.Makesureyouturned
on the correctsurfaceunit.
> Begin cookingon a higher heat setting
then reduceto a lower settingto com-
plete the operation. Never use a high
heat settingfor extendedcooking.
NEVER allow a pan to boil dry. This
could damage the pan and the appli-
ance.
> NEVERtouchcooktopuntilit hascooled,
Expectsomepartsofthe cooktop,espe-
cially around the surface units, to be-
come warm or hot during cooking. Use
potholdersto protecthands.
HIGH: Useto bringliquidto a boil, blanchor
reachpressurein a pressurecooker.Always
reducesettingto a lower heat when liquids

MED.HIGH (8): Useto brownmeat,heatoil
for deep fat frying or sauteing.Maintainfast
boil for largeamountsof liquids.
MEDIUM: Useto maintainmoderateto slow

> Clean up messy spills as soon as pos-
sible.
> Make sure surfaceunit is turned off.
