Output l evel a djustment is a keypartof tileconfigura
tion ofanysurround soundproductIt is particularly
impoflant f ora digital r eceiver s uchastheAVR525,
ascorrect o utputsensure thatyouhearsoundtracks
withthe properdirectionalily andintensily
IMPORTANT N OTE: L isteners a reoftenconfused
aboutthe operation of the surround channels While
someassume thatsound shouldalways be coming
from eachspeaker, mostof the timetherewillbe lilfle
or no soundinthe surround channels Thisis because
theyareonlyusedwhena moviedirector or sound
mixerspecifically p laces soundthereto createambi
ence,a special e ffector to continue actionfromthe
frontof the roomto the rearWhenthe outputlevels
are properly set,it is normal f or surround speakers to
operateonlyoccasionally A rtificially increasing the
volumeto the rearspeakers maydestroythe illusion

levelsmanually, werecommend t hatthe EzSet s ystem
be usedwhenthe AVRisfirstinstalled to establish the
initial l evel s ettings

possible to quicklyandaccurately s ettheAVR525's
outputlevelswithout t he useof a soundpressure
meter, a lthough manual a djustment isalsoavailable
However, forthe easiest s etup, f ollowthesesteps
whileseated inthe listening position thatwill be used
mostoften:
