OPERATION

Using theremote, u p to 30 stations maybe storedin
theAVR525's memory foreasyrecall u singthe front

Tape Recording
In normal o peration, the audioor videosource
selected for listening through the AVR525 is sentto
the record outputsThismeans thatanyprogram you
arewatching or listening to maybe recorded simply
by placing machines c onnected t o the outputs for
TapeOutputsI_ or Videol/Video 2 Audioand
VideoOutputs_t_}I_} intherecordmode

the AVR525 offersHarman Kardon's e xclusive c onfig
urable frontpaneloutput jack featureForeasy con-
nection of porlabledevices, youmayswitch the front
panel V ideo4 Jacks [] or the CoaxialDigital 3
Jack [] fromaninputto an outputbyfollowing
thesesteps:
1 Press the OSDButton _ to viewthe
MASTER MENU (Figure 1)
2 Press the Set Button _ to enterthe
IN/OUT SETUP
menu(Figure 2)
3 Press the • Button _ sothatthe on-screen _,
cursor i snexttoVIDEO 4 or COAXIAL 3
4 Press the Set Button _ andthenpresseitherof
the_/, Buttons _ _ sothatthe word0 UT
is highlighted
5 Press the Set Button _ to enterthe change
6 Press the OSDButton _ to exitthe menus and
return to normal o peration
Oncethesettingis made, t he Input/OutputStatus
Indicator[] willturnred,indicating t hatthejacks
arenowanoutput, i nstead of inthe default s etting as
an input.Once changed to anoutput, t he setting will
remain aslongastheAVR525 isturned on, unless
the settingis changed inthe 0% menusystem, a s
described aboveHowever, oncetheAVR525 is
turned ofl_ thesettingis cancelled When the unitis
turned on again, t hefrontpanel j ackswillreturn to
theirnormal d efault s etting asan input Ifyouwishto
usetheirjacks asan outputata futuretime,theset
ringmustbe changed againusingthe OSD menusys

Output Level Trim Adjustment
Normal outputlevel a djustment fortheAVR525 is
established using the testtone,asoutlined on pages
24 and25 Insomecases, however, it maybe desir-
ableto adjust t he outputlevels usingprogram material
suchasatestdisc,or a selection y ouarefamiliar w ith

Repeat t he procedure a s needed untilall channels
requiring adjustment havebeenset.When all adjust-
mentshavebeenmadeandnofurlheradjustments
aremadeforfiveseconds, t heAVR525 will return to
normal o peration
