USING THE GENIUS REMOTE TO LEARN ADDITIONAL
FUNCTIONS FOR CLU-850GR
le Genius Remote is equipped with a learning function
lich allows it to learn additional infrared control codes.
_isremote will not only control the television, a VCR, and
cable box, but also other electronic equipment which
;es an infrared remote transmitter, by learning the
msmitter's codes.
_ly infrared remote control codes can be stored in
emory.
Before starting the memory operation
Sincethe infraredsignalssent fromthe remotetransmit-
ter may be reflectedby a wall, door, etc., even if the
transmitteris not pointed directlyat the device, it may
operate. When storingthe remote control codes of an-
otherdevice,turnoffthepowerofthe device(VCR, Cable
Converter,etc.)
If you do not do this,the device may work unexpectedly.
The power couldbe turnedon, an importanttape could
be erased, the volumecouldincreasetoo much,etc..

LEARNABLE BUTTONS
These buttonscan "learn" the codesofotherremote
controltransmitterswhen the MULTI-PAGE select
switchis set to the "USER"mode.
MULTI-PAGE keys (A through L): No codes
have been factorystoredto these keys.
Learning buttonsotherthan MULTI-PAGE but-
tons: the codes for theTV have been stored in
memory. However,the remote controlcodes of
otherequipment (cable converter,audioequip-
ment, etc.) can be stored using the learning
function as shownon page 39 and page 40.
EXCLUSIVE BUTTONS
These buttonsare for operatingthe TV.
