14.ADJUSTING THE UPPER TENSION CONTROL DIAL
STANDARD
,Vhen the upper tension control dial i_ set at "O" and the presser foot is lowered, the upper thread tension should be between 5 and IO g
_vhen cotton thread #50 is used.
gDIUSTMENT
Set the upper tension control diaJ to "O" and pass cotton thlead between the tension discs.
Lower the presser loot.
3. Remove the upper tension disc and the stop ring
4. Remove the upper tension control dial.
3. ,Measure the _hread tension using a tens#on gauge and _ucn the _¢mw to adius_ the tension so i_ is between 5 and I 0 g.
Insert the upper tension control dia] onto the upper tension disc in Lhe"O" posiLion and secure itwith the stop ring
Align the upper tension disc with the"O".
