You Call for Service 0
Check the following list to be sure a service call is really necessary.
Nothing on the cooktop operates:
Metal markings appear on cooktop:
0 check for a blown circuit fuse or a tripped main circuit
0 metal pans or utensils,especially aluminum, were slid across
breaker,
the cooktop.
0 check if cooktop is properly connected to electric circuit in
house.
Brown streaks and/or areas of discoloration with a metallic
0 check if controls have been properly set.
sheen appear on cooktop:
0 boilovers burned onto the cooktop.
Cooktop elements do not get hot enough:
0 mineral deposits from water or food burned onto thecooktop.
0 surface controls may not be set properly.
0 soil from the pan bottom was transferred to the cooktop.
voltage to house may be low.
0 incorrect cleaning materials were used.
i' cookware may not be flat or the correct size or shape.
Ventilation system is not capturing smoke efficiently:
Elementsemitslightodorand/orsmokewhenfirstturnedon:
0 check on cross ventilationin room or make up air.
0 this is normal.
0 excessive amount of smoke is being created.
I_ filter may be improperly installed (see page 4).
Tiny scratches or abrasions appear on the eooktop:
0 cooktop may be improperly installed:
0 coarse particles (i.e. sugar,dust, salt) werebetween cookware
- check ducting size: 6" diameter round or
bottoms and cooktop.
3 _/4"x 10" rectangular.
_' incorrect cleaning materials were used to clean cooktop.
- check if more than three 90° elbows were used.
0 glass cookware was slid across the cooktop.
- check if a Jenn-Air wall cap was used.
cookware with a rough bottom was used.
