WARNING: Never store snow thrower with
fuel in tank indoors or in pooHy ventiJated
areas, where fuel fumes may reach an open
flame, spark or pilot Jight as on a furnace,
water heater, clothes dryer or gas appli°

NOTE:It is importantto preventgum depositsfrom formingin
essentialfuelsystempartsof theengine suchas the carburetor,fuel
filter,fuel hoseor tank duringstorage,
CAUTION:Alcoholbbnded fuels (calbd gasoholor usingethanolor
methanol)can attractmoisturewhich leadsto separationand forma-
tionof acidsduringstorage,Acidic gas candamagethe fuel systemof
an enginewhile in storage,
Toavoidengine problems,the fuel systemshouldbe emptiedbefore
storagefor 30 days or longer,Followtheseinstructionsto prepareyour
snow throwerfor storage:

WARNING: Drain fuel into an approved
container outdoors, away from any open
flame. Be certain engine is cool. Do not
smoke. Fuel left in
engine during
warm
weather deteriorates
and will cause serious
starting problems.
1, Removeall gasolinefrom thecarburetorand the fuel tankto
preventgumdepositsfrom formingon these parts and harmingthe
engine,
2, Run the engineuntilthe fuel tank is emptyand it stopsdue to lack
of fuel,
3, Draincarburetorby pressingupwardon bowldrain, locatedbelow
the carburetorcover,See figureat left,
WARNING: Do not drain carburetor if using
fuel stabilizer. Never use engine or carbure-
tor cleaning products in the fuel tank or
permanent
damage may occur.
NOTE:Fuelstabilizer(such as STA-BIL)isan acceptabbalternative
in minimizingthe formationof fuelgum depositsduringstorage,Add
stabilizerto gasolinein fuel tank or storagecontainer,Alwaysfollow
mix ratiofoundon stabilizercontainer,Runengine at bast 10 minutes
after addingstabilizerto allow it to reachthe carburetor, D o not drain
carburetorif usingfuelstabilizer,
4, Removethe sparkplug and pourone (1) ounceof engineoil
throughthe sparkplug hob intothe cylinder,Coversparkplug hob
with a rag and crank the engineseveraltimes to distributetheoil,
Replacespark plug,

1, Whenstoringthe snow throwerin an unventilatedor metalstorage
shed, careshouldbe taken to rustprooftheequipment,Usinga
light oil or silicone,coat the equipment,especiallyanychains,
springs,bearingsand cables,
2, Removeall dirtfrom exteriorof engineand equipment,
8, Follow lubricationrecommendations in the Maintenancesectionof
this manual,
4, Storeequipmentin a clean,dry area,
