5. OPERATING POSITION
a. Before starting the engine, stand as shown in "
Figure 5 and check for the following:
1. Left arm fully extended_ hand holding assist
handle.
2. Right arm slightly bent, hand holding throttle
grip, fingers on throttle t rigger.
3. Engine below waistlevel

head is nearand parallel totheground andeas-
ily contacts the material to be cur.
When adjustingthe assist handle for
comfort, be sure that the assist handle remains
between the trigger housing and the safety la-
bel. Figure 2.
b. Adjust assist handle up or down the tube (but
above the safety labels) to a comfortable position.
e. Rotate assist handle from left to right to tilt the
s_ngle of the trimmer head when cutting a large,
oped area such as a ditch bank.
