Configuring ISDN Callback

The following CLI commands configure point-to-point and point-to-multipoint applications with
single or multiple neighbors.

Point-to-Point with Matched Calling/Called Numbers

The following commands configure the called XSR with matched calling and called phone
numbers:
XSR(config)#interface dialer 1
XSR(config-if<D1>)#dialer pool 1
XSR(config-if<D1>)#dialer caller 921 callback
XSR(config-if<D1>)#dialer string 6032217921
XSR(config-if<D1>)#encapsulation ppp
XSR(config-if<D1>)#ip address 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0
XSR(config-if<D1>)#no shutdown

Point-to-Point with Different Calling/Called Numbers

The following commands configure the called XSR with different calling and called phone
numbers:
XSR(config)#interface dialer 1
XSR(config-if<D1>)#dialer pool 1
XSR(config-if<D1>)#dialer caller 921 callback
XSR(config-if<D1>)#dialer string 6783234451
XSR(config-if<D1>)#encapsulation ppp
XSR(config-if<D1>)#ip address 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0
XSR(config-if<D1>)#no shutdown

Point-to-Multipoint with One Neighbor

The following commands configure the called XSR with a callback number that may or may not
differ from the dial out number. Note that a dialer map must be added to specify the particular
number to be accepted.
XSR(config)#interface dialer1
XSR(config-if<D1>)#dialer pool 1
XSR(config-if<D1>)#dialer caller 921 callback
XSR(config-if<D1>)#dialer idle-timer 0
XSR(config-if<D1>)#dialer map ip 10.10.10.2 9053617921
XSR(config-if<D1>)#encapsulation ppp
XSR(config-if<D1>)#ip address 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0
XSR(config-if<D1>)#no shutdown

Point-to-Multipoint with Multiple Neighbors

The following commands configure the called XSR with a callback number that must match the dial
out number. The first number specified, 9053617921, will be used for callback.
XSR(config)#interface dialer1
XSR(config-if<D1>)#dialer pool 1
XSR(config-if<D1>)#dialer caller 921 callback
