Identifying parts on the system board

The system board, also called the planar or motherboard, is the main circuit
board in your computer. It provides basic computer functions and supports a
variety of devices that are IBM-installed or that you can install later.
Depending on the model, your computer comes with one of the following two
system boards.
Components of the A40 and A40p system board
If your computer is a type A40 or A40p, see the following illustration for the
location of parts on the system board.
Note: An illustration of the system board and additional information is
provided on a label located on the inside of the computer chassis.
