When the motherboard's clock generator pulses, the ex trem e v alues (spikes) of the pulses
creates EMI (Electromagnetic Interference). The Spead Spectrum function reduces the EMI
generated by m odulating the puls es so that the spikes of the pulses are reduced to flatter
curv es. It does so by v ary ing the frequency so that it doesn't use any particular frequenc y for
more than a moment. This reduces interference problems w ith other electronic s in the area.
