Updating the Firmware

When firmware upgrades are available, the image stored in Flash
memory on the server can be easily updated over the network. In
addition to the image currently being used, an alternate image of
the firmware is also available on the server, in case an update fails
in process.

Checking Current Image

You can view the current version of the product code on the control
panel of the HD Server. While the server is operating, enter view
mode by pressing the
button on the control panel. Then press
(down button) several times to cycle through the parameters until
is displayed. When finished viewing, press the
button and confirm with the
button to exit.
You can also view your current version of the firmware using
HD Server Admin on a workstation on the network (see page 4-3)—
on the Identity and Status web pages.
Both the current image and alternate image on the server are also
shown on the Configuration Æ Firmware Update page. (Select the
Configuration tab and click the Firmware Update button under it.)

Checking for an Update

Contact your HP-authorized dealer for the most recent release of
firmware.
You can check (and download from) the HP web site for support.
You can access that site using a link on the Support page in
HD Server Admin (see page 4-3). The URL is:
http://www.hp.com/support/hdserver
Or, you can contact your nearest HP Customer Care Center
(see page A-1).
