Action 6-1: Installation from CD-ROM
The supplied CD-ROM contains the following materials.
Printer Driver & TrueType fonts -
You need to configure your PC for the printer by installing the printer driver and
TrueType-compatible fonts.
Other useful utilities -
Useful utility software programs are available on the CD-ROM.
Documentation -
This Setup guide and the User's Guide are available on the CD-ROM. You can view
the On-Line guides with the Adobe Acrobat reader software included on the CD-
ROM.
If your PC does not have a CD-ROM drive, you can install the printer driver or RPC from the
supplied floppy disks. For the other software that is supplied on the CD-ROM, it is possible
to make disk sets from the CD-ROM if you can get access temporarily to a PC with CD-ROM
and Floppy disk drives.
For Windows 95/98/NT 4.0
1. Close all the applications running on your PC.
2. Insert the supplied compact disc into the CD-ROM drive.
NOTE
Depending on the computer configuration, the installation program may automatically start.
In this case, skip the following steps 3 to 5.
3. Click Start.
4. Choose Run.
5. Type D:\START32 (or the appropriate drive directory letter) in the command line box
and click OK.
After the installer starts, simply follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
For Windows 3.1/3.11
1. Close all the applications running on your PC.
2. Insert the supplied compact disc into the CD-ROM drive.
3. In the Windows Program Manager screen, click the File menu.
4. Choose Run.
5. Type D:\START16 (or the appropriate drive directory letter) in the command line box
and click OK.
After the installer starts, simply follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
