BATTERY INSPECTION

<CLEANING BATTERY TERMINALS>
If you remove screw from battery box
cover after putting floor panel met
forward, you will find battery assem-
bled.
If the battery terminal is polluted, or in
rust, separate battery and clean it.
Battery terminal in rust with white
powder should be cleaned with warm
water.
In case of serious rust of battery
terminal, disassemble the battery cord
and grind it with wirebrush or sand-
paper.
CAUTION
Turn the ignition switch OFF
before disconnecting the terminal
from the battery.
When cleaning battery, do not
disassemble the battery cap to
prevent foreign materials from
falling inside battery.
Remove the negative pole
cord first and the positive pole
side cord next.
Make sure, at this time, that
cord is connected first, followed by
side cord.
When handling the battery, stay
away from flammable materials.
Make sure that terminals do not
contact with other adjacent parts
when handling

Contact with other parts may cause
spark resulting in electrical equip-
ment malfunction, fire and electric
shock.
Frequent cell starting can shorten
the battery lifetime. Please use a
kick to start the engine after the
long period storage and in case of
the initial starting and the cold
starting to improve starting
performance and extend the battery
lifetime.
<REPLENISHING BATTERY WATER>
This vehicle doesn't need either
replenishing or checking battery water
because of the equipment of enclosed
MF battery.

In case battery needs a checking, it
should be cared of by service center.

CAUTION
Be careful not to disassemble in-
jection part of enclosed battery.
When not using vehicle during a
long time, take off the battery from
terminal.
the vehicle to keep from self-
discharge and electric discharge.
Put the battery in a well ventilated
place after charging fully. In case it
isn't available to take battery off
from the vehicle, disconnect "-"
terminal.
